German Third Reich Mint Mark Guide A-BERLIN, B-VIENNA, D-MUNICH, E-MULDENHUTTEN, F-STUTTGART, G-KARLSRUHE and J-HAMBURG German Third Reich small denomination coins minted from 1936 to 1940 consist of bronze (1 and 2 Reichspfennig) and aluminum-bronze (5 and 10 Reichspfennig) materials. Sorry, no gold in these coins. In fact, Germany has never issued any gold coins. In 1940, the bronze Two Reichspfennig was minted less and eliminated by the end of that year. Also in 1940, the 1, 5 and 10 Reichspfennig coins were given a new obverse and minted in zinc until 1948. 1, 5 and 10 Reichspfennig coins issued after VE Day (Victory in Europe, May 8, 1945) were minted with the wreath and swastika removed.
